 The Leo Berbee Bulb Company is a family owned & operated company which dates back to 1972. This is when Henk Berbee traveled to the United States to open a wholesale distribution center for the parent company in Holland.
Marysville, Ohio was chosen to set up this center because of its agricultural connections and was central to the many customers based in Cleveland & Cincinnati.
Over the years the company has grown and evolved into the service company it is today.
In 2000, the Berbee children — Bob and Marjolein — took their places along side Henk and began learning the business.
Bob manages the Dutch Mill Greenhouse (Berbee’s Retail Division) which was put into operation in 2002 and is located on the same property as the wholesale warehouses. Bob and Mattie were married in 2010.
Marjolein has taken over the day to day operation of the wholesale division of the business.
Dave Dzmura joined the Berbee company in 2007 and is in charge of the Brokered Product Division, representing over 50 growers and industry suppliers. Dave helps out in the garden center, as well. Dave and Marjolein were married in 2009.
