1949 – Leo Berbee Bulb
Leo Berbee begins flower bulbs growth and distribution in Holland.
1971 - LBBC is incorporated in the US
Official paperwork is filed to created the American branch of Leo Berbee
1972 – LBBC to America
Henk Berbee (son of Leo) opens a distribution warehouse in Ohio for the parent company in Holland. Marysville was chosen because of its agricultural connections.
1982 – Home Sweet Home
Henk and his wife Marianne moved their family to America officially. Marjolein, age 3, and Bob, age 6 weeks, moved to Marysville and have been here ever since
2002 – Family Business
Henk’s children, Bob and Marjolein, joined the business. Bob manages Dutch Mill Greenhouse and Marjolein manages the wholesale operations.
2002 – LBBC Goes Retail
Dutch Mill Greenhouse is established and offers Ohio grown plants and of course Leo Berbee bulbs.
2007 – Berbee Young Plants
Dave Dzmura launched the Berbee Young Plants Division – brokering product for over 30 growers.
2016 – Still Growing
To date, we have 4 divisions of our growing business. Berbee’s Best launched in 2016 – an online bulb store selling bulbs to your door.
